With most conventional motorhomes in Europe often more than 7 metres long, it is easy to understand why a 5.99 m camper is considered “compact”. Conventional manufacturers have also introduced “compact solutions” but these are rarely more than just a “fully equipped van”, which is still a van.
At Wingamm, we have been specialising in truly compact campers (e.g. body lengths of just 5.25 m) for the last 40 years, and consider a length of 5.99 m to be perfectly practical and exciting thanks to our clever designers.
The models of the City-Suite range have an entrance door and external hatches fitted with the “Safety Block System” central locking utilising the added security offered by using the base vehicle’s automotive-standard locks.
The City-Suite range has suitably compact models, all with a Fiat Ducato base, a 3.80 m wheelbase, with an extremely short rear overhang, a wider wheel track and 16″ tyres to give maximum grip on the road.

This is the newest Wingamm model and therefore our most innovative compact camper yet. It has been designed as a multipurpose vehicle, to enable more people to explore new horizons.
The external size of City-Suite matches the dimensions of a classic Fiat Ducato van; 5.99 m long and 2.05 m wide. At first glance, one could compare it with the numerous “pure campers” or “fitted vans” that conventional production is now offering on the market as a “compact product”, often with bizarre solutions.
The kitchen unit to the right of the entrance door has an ultra-modern design with a steel sink, a two-burner hob, a cover that closes flush with the work surface, and a 96L Trivalent refrigerator.
The standard City-Suite comes with a transverse double bed at the rear, above the large storage area. As the walls are made with double-shell fibreglass and heated with our special X-Trafit system you benefit from maximum thermal insulation so you are as comfortable as possble – at any time of the year.
The large access hatch in the rear wall makes loading things into the storage area very simple, but if you want more storage space, there’s the option of the special “E-Line” electric bed-lifting system, so the bed can be raised higher to increase the loading volume to suit your needs.
Of course, the City-Suite comes with our longitudinal drop-down double bed at the front as well! To accommodate this bed, the standard monocoque is replaced with another one with a higher roofline and the SkyView opening roof window. Sensational! The City-Suite is the only camper of its kind that also provides a drop-down bed.
The longitudinal drop-down double bed, patented by Wingamm, is quick and easy to use, and means it is possible to get in or out of bed without disturbing a partner. It has bed slats and a memory foam mattress for maximum comfort, and you can leave your duvets and pillows in place so it is always ready to use – simply by pulling it down with one hand. The roof lockers can still be reached from the drop-down bed to store books, etc, and thanks to the opening SkyView roof window above the bed, you can fall asleep while looking at the stars… because this is the drop-down bed par excellence!
The toilet compartment, located in the centre of the interior, is made of solid fibreglass and HPL laminated surfaces in the Vintage Wood version, with amazing ergonomics and functionality. There is a toilet and a shower area has a separate single-control mixer tap and rod.
The interior offers a stylish and unconventional design, with a bold choice of the interior furniture made with multilayered polar surfaces covered with HPL laminated surfaces with a new VINTAGE WOOD finish. (LINK)
At the front, above the driver’s cab, there are a series of very useful storage cupboards styled to provide continuity with the rest of the interior design. There is a two-seater dinette opposite the kitchen unit plus two swivel “captain chair” cab seats, so it can seat a total of four people.
The City-Suite is designed for 4 people with 2 separate sleeping areas available.
As part of our great attention to convenience and driving comfort, we chose a smaller 3.8 m wheelbase compared to the more usual 4.0 m one used for vans. This gives it a smaller turning circle to make it easier and more practical to use every day.
Our fibreglass monocoque bodyshell also gives a larger internal volume compared to a standard van conversion, so it is a truly functional, more comfortable and versatile design.
DROP-DOWN BED VARIANT
The City-Suite can be ordered with a drop-down double bed over the front dinette as a factory-fit option (note: it cannot be installed after production).
When the drop-down bed is ordered, a slightly higher monocoque bodyshell is used to accommodate it. The front part above the cab is higher and has the Skyview opening roof window.

Engine power of 130PS, 150PS or 180PS are available, and there is also the option of an automatic gearbox.
The external dimensions match those of a typical Fiat Ducato van: 5.99 m long, 2.05 m wide and 2.65 m high, yet although it might look like a panel van conversion, it actually has a fibreglass Wingamm monocoque bodyshell offering superior thermal and acoustic comfort.
However, it comes with a shorter 3.80 m wheelbase to give it a smaller turning circle to make it easier to manoeuvre.
The large, wide locker at the back under the bed is big enough to load a 1200×800 mm EURO pallet in it, thanks to an extra-large hatch door, which means the vehicle can also be used for work and leisure. An optional electrical lifting system can raise the bed to increase the loading volume further, which means you can also carry bulky luggage and equipment for your hobbies or holidays.
