The fiberglass monocoque body is made with a sandwich system: fiberglass sheet + polyurethane foam insulating panel + fiberglass sheet. Inside the self-supporting structure, there are no wooden parts (which can decompose) or metal parts (which would act as a thermal bridge).

Why in fiberglass?

Fiberglass is an extremely resistant, elastic and light material. This great elasticity eliminates the risk of damage from hail and confers rigidity, protection while driving and durability over time to the entire living cell.

Furthermore, unlike metal, fiberglass is not a thermal conductor. A body made of metal or that contains metal parts cannot retain heat inside, it is naturally conducted to the cooler outside - consequently it cannot guarantee good internal thermal comfort. The fiberglass monocoque, on the other hand, is a sandwich structure made exclusively of fiberglass and polyurethane foam. Once the inside of the fiberglass monocoque is heated, there is no dispersion / exchange of heat from the inside to the outside - the heat remains inside.

To improve thermal comfort, exclude infiltration problems and improve aesthetics (avoid external frames, visible hinges and silicones) since 2009 we have introduced doors and doors in solid and light, "flat-shape" fiberglass without external frames, without hinges visible and without the need for external silicone.

We have also replaced all the external door handles, adopted a solid Fiat lock handle for the entrance door and designed an innovative and unique centralized locking system in the sector.

Patented concealed hinges

With the dual objective of avoiding thermal bridges and obtaining a cleaner and more streamlined external line, in addition to the “flat-shape fiberglass door and doors, Wingamm adopts special concealed THIRD patented hinges.

A zipper solid, resistant, in Zamak alloy, which works completely hidden inside the door on one side and the body on the other.

Zamak is a non-ferrous alloy characterized by high hardness and resistance. The Third hinge is made up of a central body, levers, pins and fixing screws all made of Zamak. The slots, which allow the fixing of the hinge, are housed in the special “rotating bushings”, whose 360 ° rotation allows ample registration margins. Each hinge is housed inside a protective shell made of cast aluminum. The shells are positioned, by means of a mold, in the foreseen points of the bodywork and subsequently resinated to form a single body with the bodywork.
