Why a monocoque motorhome? a unique shield, without equal
The bodywork of the monocoque GRP motorhome is made with a sandwich system: fiberglass sheet + polyurethane foam insulation panel + fiberglass sheet. Inside the self-supporting structure, there are no wooden parts (which can decompose) or metal parts (which would act as a thermal bridge).

What are the advantages of a fiberglass monocoque camper?
Fibreglass is an extremely strong, elastic and lightweight material. This great elasticity eliminates the risk of hail damage and gives rigidity, protection during travel and durability to the entire living cell of the monocoque motorhome.
One of the main advantages of a monocoque camper is thethermal insulation provided by the fiberglass structure. Unlike metal, fiberglass is not a heat conductor: this means that the internal heat is not lost to the outside during the winter and the interior remains cool in the summer.
In traditional campers with metal walls, heat is easily transmitted to the outside, compromising living comfort and increasing the energy consumption for heating or cooling. With a monocoque fiberglass camper, the structure is a sandwich made entirely of fiberglass and polyurethane foam, which provides excellent insulation.
The result? Better thermal comfort, stable and pleasant temperatures in every season and real energy savings. Those who choose a monocoque camper choose a technologically advanced solution, designed to offer maximum comfort on the road.
Why is it important to choose a Wingamm monocoque camper?
1. Excellent thermal and acoustic insulation
Fiberglass is not a heat conductor, and when combined with insulating materials such as polyurethane foam, it allows the monocoque camper to maintain stable internal temperatures in every season. The result is unparalleled thermal comfort, both in summer and winter, with significant energy savings. External noises are also effectively muffled, for a quieter and more relaxing travel experience.
2. Greater strength and durability
Unlike traditional structures, the monocoque camper has no joints, screws or panels that can deform or get damaged over time. The single fiberglass body is resistant to impacts, atmospheric agents and wear. This means less maintenance, greater reliability and a long useful life of the vehicle.
3. Protection against infiltration
One of the most common problems in campers is water infiltration. The monocoque structure eliminates this risk at the root: there are no cracks or critical points to seal, because the entire body is molded in a single piece. This guarantees continuous and long-lasting protection over time.
4. Compact and aerodynamic design
The monocoque camper offers clean, compact and aerodynamic lines, which improve stability on the road and reduce fuel consumption. The absence of visible edges and joints also makes the aesthetics more elegant and contemporary.
5. Sustainability and efficiency
Thanks to the optimal insulation and lightness of the fiberglass, the monocoque camper consumes less energy for heating and air conditioning, contributing to a lower environmental impact. It is a smart choice for those seeking freedom of movement without sacrificing efficiency.
To improve the performance of the monocoque camper, the DOOR, lockers and HATCHES are also made of FIBERGLASS sandwich and can
In order to improve thermal comfort, exclude infiltration problems and improve the aesthetics of our monocoque motorhomes (avoid external frames, visible hinges and silicones), since 2009 we have introduced doors and doors made of solid, lightweight, 'flat-shape' fibreglass with no external frames, no visible hinges and no need for external silicon.
We have also replaced all the external door handles, adopted a solid Fiat lock handle for the entrance door and designed an innovative and unique central locking system in the sector.
Patented concealed hinges
With the dual objective of avoiding thermal bridges and obtaining a cleaner and more streamlined external line, in addition to the “flat-shape” fiberglass door and hatches, Wingamm adopts special patented THIRD hinges that disappear inside the monocoque camper.
A zipper solid, resistant, in Zamak alloy, which works completely hidden inside the door on one side and the body of the monocoque camper on the other.
There zamak is a non-ferrous alloy characterized by high hardness and resistance. The Third hinge is composed of a central body, levers, pins and fixing screws all made of Zama. The slots, which allow the fixing of the hinge, are housed in the special “rotating bushings”, whose 360° rotation allows wide margins of adjustment.
Each hinge is housed inside a protective shell made of cast aluminum. The shells are positioned, by means of a mold, in the designated points of the body and then resinated to form a single body with the body of the monocoque camper.
